Pure Barre Tulsa
If you guys have been following along with me via Instagram then you may have noticed that I have been sharing bits and pieces of my new workout routine at Pure Barre Tulsa. I have been going for a little over a month now and truly am enjoying my current workout routine. With me working full time and all the after school activities for the boys, it left me very little time to go work out or do something for myself so I decided that for me to take care of others well that I needed to put myself first and carve out time to improve on myself and leave the stress and busyness behind for an hour and just focus on me.
WHAT IS PURE BARRE?
I am sure you are curious on what Pure Barre actually is. Pure Barre utilizes the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements. Pure Barre is also a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs, arms and burns fat. It also is not easy and definitely kicks your butt the first few times but I have noticed the more I attend, the stronger and better I am.
There’s minimal equipment used — a small pilates ball, a band, a mat and weights ranging from 2-5 pounds. The weights may seem a little on the light side, but if you’ve taken a barre class, you know that they’re plenty when you’re doing isometric movements like those in Pure Barre. I always feel the burn.
I am currently on my second month at Pure Barre and with each class that I attend, I can tell that I am improving and my movements are getting slightly easier. My goal is to tone all areas of my body and be stronger. My current workout schedule is to go 3 times a week which is realistic with my life right now and it seems to be working well. I have committed myself to this workout and my first goal is to sign the first bar when I attend my 100th class!
At each big milestone, the amazing ladies at Pure Barre are there to celebrate you and you also get to leave your signature on the coveted bars depending on what club you have achieved. I have made a little pack with my girlfriends that when we all reach the 100 club, that we will get to celebrate together! Another great thing that I love about Pure Barre is that there is no judgement and if anything, the community they have created is so welcoming and that I have never felt out of place. Outside of classes, Pure Barre Tulsa also has a cute retail area with different workout tops and bottom and fun accessories. One thing you do need to know is that shorts are not recommended when working out. I normally wear leggings with a loose top so I don't feel restricted and of course, you need sticky socks so your feet don't slip during class.
If you are curious if Pure Barre is for you, the answer is YES! Pure Barre is for anyone at any age or fitness level and each class is different so you are constantly learning new techniques so it stays new and fresh.
