Favorite Things Party + Tips on How to Host Your Own!
FAVORITE THINGS PARTY 2017
Last Friday, I hosted our annual Favorite Things Party with my girlfriends. This is one of my favorite events of the holiday season and I am so excited to share with you all the details from our party and tips on how to host your own Favorite Things Party with your own girlfriends! First off, I wanted to share that when hosting a Favorite Things Party, it doesn't have to be around the Holidays, it can really be any time of the year but with our group, we tend to always do it in December.
LET'S TALK WHAT IS A FAVORITE THINGS PARTY, INVITATIONS AND FOOD
A Favorite Things Party is when you invite your friends, co-workers, family or really anyone you want and the only rule is that they have to bring a certain amount of their favorite things to exchange with the other guest. For our Favorite Things Party, we have everyone bring three of the same items that is gift wrapped without a tag and we also put a price limit of $20.00 per gift but you can do any dollar amount that you want then when everyone arrives, all the gifts are place under the Christmas tree and we each put our name in three separate jars that we will draw from before we do our gift exchange.
Invitations to your Favorite Things Party can be done in several ways with a formal invitation that is mailed or email but I prefer the method of a simple Facebook event. It is easy to keep track of everyone that is attending and you can also share details of the event with everyone on there without having to send several messages to each person. Plus it sends out a reminder the day of the event which is always a good idea during the busy seasons where we tend to overbook our schedules.
When it comes to what to serve, we have dinner potluck style where everyone brings something favorite of theirs to share. It makes it easier on the host and then you have a variety of different foods to choose from. I always make a Charcuterie Board to serve with a variety of cheese, crackers , meats and fruits and it is always a hit. I also make my Holiday Sangria each year that includes fresh cranberries, slice oranges, diced up apples, moscato wine and cranberry apple sparkling cider. It's super easy to make and is always a crowd pleaser.
This year for my favorite gift, I decided to give some of my favorite things from LOFT which if you know me then you know that LOFT is my favorite store to shop and that my closet is basically 90% of their clothes. These studs have been some of my favorites recently and their no show socks are perfect for this time of year when wearing booties and you don't want your socks to show.
