Girl's Night + Homemade Ramen Bowl Recipe
I love any excuse to get together with my girlfriends and this girl's night was one of my favorites because we made homemade ramen bowls and if you know me, I love a good ramen bowl! My good friend Johanna is an amazing cook ( @realfoodjo ) and she shared her amazing ramen recipe with us and it was so fun to cook it together as a group.
The broth was made from scratch and was just delicious! It was my first time making broth like this and I definitely plan to make it again.
HOMEMADE RAMAN BROTH
2 Teaspoon of sesame seed oil
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 Teaspoon of fresh ginger, minced
2 Teaspoon of mirin
3 Teaspoon of tamari ( gluten free soy sauce )
4 cups of organic chicken broth
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
Salt + Pepper
Saute the sesame seed oil, garlic and ginger for a few minutes. Then add the mirin, soy sauce and chicken broth. Bring to a boil and add mushrooms. Cook for an additional 10 minutes and add salt and pepper to taste.
I think the toppings were my favorite part of the meal and I thought all the flavors were amazing together. We had pulled pork, corn ( sauted in a little olive oil + kerry gold butter ) , edamame, grated carrots, cilantro, green onions, oven roasted brussels sprouts, avocado, soft boiled eggs and our noodles were by Lotus Brown Rice and Millet Noodles. Cook the noodles are directed on the package and be sure to not over cook as they will become mushy.
Yum, yum! I literally am now hungry just putting this blog post together! If you love ramen bowls like I do, I hope you give this recipe a try and I am already thinking of our next girl's night!
