This past Friday a few girls from our Cookbook Club and I headed to Springdale, Arkansas to Amy Hannon's Cook the Book workshop where we got to be in her home and get to watch her demo and eat some of the recipes from her new cookbook, Love Welcome Serve. Amy and I have been "Instagram" friends for awhile now and I was so thrilled to finally get to meet Amy in person and she is just as sweet as she is online and the true definition of hospitality.

When we first arrived, we were greet with Amy's Citrus- Basil Sweet Tea and you guys, for a girl who doesn't event like sweet tea ( I know, feel free to judge me ) it was SO good that I probably had 4-5 refills with no shame. We also got served a delicious appetizer of Roasted Red Pepper Pimento Cheese on little toast with caramelized onion confit and I may or may not have had seconds.

The first dish Amy showed us was how to cook delicious Collard Greens which I have never ate them the way she showed us but gosh, anything with bacon is good in my book. I got to help her in the kitchen with this dish and nobody was injured during this process! Ha! Other recipes that we got to try was Signature Shrimp and Grits, Grilled Crusty Bread with Garlicky Compound Butter and Easy Banana Foster with Pecan Crumb  and it was all so good and easy to make which is one reason why I was so excited to get her new cookbook.

After the workshop, we headed to Euna Mae's which is Amy's shop where she sells the cutest kitchen and cooking items. Amy showed us some really cool cooking tools that I knew I needed to have for my own kitchen.

We all had such a great time and I am hoping for more field trips for our little cookbook club in the future and if you are interested in checking out future Cook the Book workshops, be sure to follow Amy on Instagram which is where she shares all the dates and information and be sure to check out her adorable shop too if you are in the Springdale area!  If you want to learn more about how to start your own cookbook club, you can check out my blog post here with all the details.
